Synopsis
This fiction comedy presents the struggles of two actresses appearing in the early 1980s box-office hit "Madame Aema." As actresses, they face harsh realities and fierce struggles behind the glamor of the film industry in 1980s Chungmuro. Jeong Hee-ran, an A-list actress during that time, loses the lead role of Madame Aema due to disagreements with the creator. Headstrong and hot-tempered with a keen sense of right and wrong, Hee-ran is played by Lee Hanee ("The Fiery Priest", "Knight Flower", "Phantom"). Meanwhile, Sin Joo-ae is an aspiring actress eking out a living as a nightclub dancer, then discovered and selected for the lead role in Chungmuro's most anticipated film "Madame Aema." Up-and-coming actor Bang Hyo-rin, noted for her roles in independent films, takes on the role of Joo-ae. Jin Sun-kyu ("Uprising", "The Outlaws", "Extreme Job") plays Goo Joong-ho, a filmmaker who will do anything to survive in the cutthroat Chungmuro film industry. In order to get back at the unmanageable Hee-ran, Jung-ho holds a wide audition to give away the main role to a newbie actor. Played by Cho Hyun-chul ("D.P"), Kwak In-woo is a timid rookie director with big dreams and high hopes for his debut with "Madame Aema."
