Synopsis
Faced with a dire situation with no end but death, two women resolve to murder and become entangled in a chain of unforeseen events. Jeon So-nee ("Parasyte: The Grey") plays Eun-soo, a luxury-brand salesperson at a department store. Harboring childhood trauma, she resolves to help her friend Hee-soo, who is going through a similar painful experience. Lee Yoo-mi ("Mr. Plankton", "Strong Girl Nam-soon") takes on the role of Hee-soo, who struggles to be freed from ongoing domestic violence. Once a promising writer of children's books, she now spends her days in the hell of her husband's violence and comes to carry out a plan to kill him with Eun-soo. Jang Seung-jo ("The Frog", "The Good Detective") plays Hee-soo's husband, Jin-pyo, who poses a significant threat to both women. Lee Mu-saeng ("Gyeongseong Creature - Season 2") joins as Jin So-baek, the CEO of Jinkang Store, who discovers Hee-soo and Eun-soo's plan and becomes their staunch supporter. Based on Hideo Okuda's novel "Naomi & Kanako," "As You Stood By" poses a question to save those trapped in a hellish reality and to everyone who turned a blind eye.
