Synopsis
"Mousetrap" is a chilling thriller about a reclusive novelist who forms an unlikely alliance with the loan shark who once pursued him. Together, they hunt down the mysterious "Rat" who has stolen everything from the novelist's life. Based on the Kakao Entertainment webtoon "Field Mouse," the series follows an intense pursuit of hidden truths as the boundary between reality and deception collapses. The project is helmed by director Kim Hong-seon-I, known for his specialty in directing genre shows like "The Guest - Drama", "Voice", "Dear Hongrang", and "Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area". Ryu Jun-yeol ("Revelations", "The 8 Show") plays Moon-jae, a novelist living in isolation, while Sul Kyung-gu ("Good News", "The Whirlwind") transforms into the loan shark No-ja, who will stop at nothing when it comes to money. The unlikely alliance between Moon-jae and No-ja will pull fans right in from the get-go, drawing them into a gripping descent toward the truth.
