Jang Dong-yoon (장동윤)+ FollowLee Doo-hak - He was born as the son of a peasant in a quiet and small village in Yeosu. Although it is a world without owners and servants, his father still treated the Cheol-woong family as lords, saying that he is indebted to the independence activist's house. Seol In-ah (설인아)+ FollowOh Jeong-sin - Daughter of Namhae Theater who grew up with Doo-hak and Cheol-woong. She has thick hair with light brown waves, large black eyes, long eyelashes, and curious eyes. Following a clear-looking forehead and lively red cheeks, she has a soft white neck, and her mouth is small, but she proudly says what she wants to say. The reason Doo-hak and Cheol-woong fell in love with Jeong-shin at a glance was because of the original charm derived from her high self-esteem rather than her appearance looking beautiful. Even as she talks, Jeong-shin smiled and expresses tens of thousands of emotions with expressions, leaning forward to read and listen to the other person's thoughts at moments, or sends quick looks. The secret and magic of beauty that only she has is the smile, the expression, the delicate and elegant movements, and her laughter and voice. Choo Young-woo (추영우)+ FollowChoi Cheol-woong - A second-generation son of the house that Doo-hak’s family serves. He is quick-witted and smart. In particular, he doesn't want to lose to others, so he tries to beat others by any means even in trivial matters. He wasn’t enemies with Doo-hak from the beginning. On the surface, Cheol-woong and Doo-hak were like lordn and a servant, but Cheol-woong followed him, considering Doo-hak, who protected him, as his own brother. However, Cheol-woong's beloved woman, Jeong-shin chose Doo-hak over him. Doo-hak lost both his life and mind because of Cheol-woong, but Cheol-woong seemed to have lost everything he had to Doo-hak because of Jeong-shin. It was painful. The desire to kneel down and beg for Jeong-shin turns into a black heart over time by time. If Doo-hak continues to get in the way, Cheol-woong promise to deal with it with his own hands.
최철웅 - 두학의 가족이 모시는 주인집의 2대 독자, 눈치가 빠르고 머리가 영민하다. 특히 남에게 지기 싫어해 사소한 일에도 수단 방법을 가리지 않고 남을 이기려 한다. 그가 처음부터 두학과 원수가 되었던 것은 아니다. 겉보기에 철웅과 두학은 상전과 하인 같았지만, 철웅은 우직하게 자신을 지켜주는 두학을 내심 친형처럼 여기며 그를 따랐었다. 하지만 철웅이 사랑하는 여인, 정신이 자신이 아닌 두학을 선택한다. 두학은 철웅 때문에 자신의 인생과 정신을 모두 잃었지만, 철웅은 정신 때문에 자신의 모든 것을 두학에게 뺏긴 것 같았다. 괴로웠다. 정신을 내어달라고 무릎 꿇고 빌고 싶은 심정은 시간이 가며 검은 마음으로 변해간다. 만약 두학이 계속해서 방해된다면, 내 손으로 처리하겠다는 다짐도 하면서•••
Kim Myung-soo-I (김명수)+ FollowLee Joong-ho - Doo-hak’s father, a straightforward and stubborn farmer. He lived under Cheol-woong's grandfather as a servant and became independent, but after liberation, he takes more care of Cheol-woong's house than his own family, saying he is indebted to the grace of his owner. Of course, he is like an uncle to Cheol-woong, but he constantly forces his son, Doo-hak, to sacrifice, and tells him never to go beyond Cheol-woong.
이중호 - 두학의 아버지, 우직하고 고집스러운 농사꾼. 철웅의 할아버지 밑에서 머슴으로 살다가 독립했지만, 해방 이후에 주인의 은혜를 갚는다며, 자신의 가족보다는 철웅의 집을 더 끔찍이 돌본다. 당연히 철웅에게는 삼촌 같은 존재. 하지만 자신의 아들인 두학에게는 끊임없이 희생을 강요하며, 철웅을 결코 넘어서지 말라고 한다.
