Synopsis
Set in the reckless and merciless Korean entertainment industry of the '60s and '80s, "Tantara" chronicles the rise of those who had almost nothing, yet bet everything on a dream of dazzling success. The series is penned by Noh Hee-kyeong, the beloved writer behind "Our Blues" and "Dear My Friends", working alongside director Lee Yoon-jeong, who directed "Coffee Prince" and "Cheese in the Trap". The ever-versatile Song Hye-kyo ("The Glory", "Descendants of the Sun") takes on the role of Min-ja, while Gong Yoo ("The Trunk", "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God") showcases a striking transformation as Dong-goo, Min-ja's childhood friend. Kim Seolhyun ("Light Shop", "Summer Strike") plays Min-hee, caught in a love-hate relationship with Min-ja, and Cha Seung-won ("Uprising", "Believer 2") appears as Gil-yeo, the greatest composer of their era. Lee Hanee ("Aema", "Killing Romance") also joins the cast as Yang-ja, Min-hee's mother and an aspiring singer..
