Synopsis
"Six meters deep, was that the President’s order?"

In 2008, under the Lee Myung-bak administration, the Four Major Rivers Project turned Korea's once-beautiful rivers into a living nightmare. Pristine waters, once teeming with life, became stagnant and toxic, choked with green algae that reek of death. And now, crops grown with that contaminated water are served on dinner tables across the nation.

Tens of trillions of won were poured into the project. And every year, 50 billion won in taxpayer money is still spent just to maintain the weirs built along the rivers. A national canal project disguised as river restoration enabled by government deception and media silence has become a full-scale environmental disaster.

The consequences of this will be borne by the next generation. For 17 years, we've tracked the wrongdoings of those responsible. At first, it was doubt in the President's words. Then, it was the unbearable sight of rivers blanketed in algae. And now, it's fear for the future our children will inherit.

So that our descendants may once again run freely along the flowing rivers, this time, we must act. We must restore the rivers of Korea and let them flow again.
