With nowhere to go, Chul-soo stays at the apartment, over the express disapproval of Choon-hee, the new tenant. The two begin to fight, being different in every way. Chul-soo is loud and forthright; he likes the zoo with its crowds of people and animals. Choon-hee prefers to keep at a distance; she likes art museums and rooms with a view. The two at last achieve some sort of compromise in a screenplay Choon-hee is writing for a contest. They decide to write it together, and title it Art Museum by the Zoo.
