Synopsis
There is a person who is the top businessman in Korea and was in charge of 60% of the Shanghai Provisional Government's independence funds. Despite Japanese oppression, he cultivated the barren land of Manchuria and created a huge Balhae farm. For the exploited Korean farmers, Balhae farm became a country where they could farm safely. He is Baeksan Ahn Hee-je who died from Japanese torture. The director who received the Baeksan Award when he graduated from elementary school asks Baeksan a question 40 years later. "Why did you take that path?" And Baeksan asks back. "Did you plant fruit trees on the mountain behind you?"
