Synopsis
General Hong Beom-do boosted the morale of the independence army by winning the Battle of Bongodong in June 1920 and the Battle of Cheongsanri in October 1920 against the Japanese Imperial Army. In addition, General Hong Beom-do organized and commanded the Korean Independence Army, an independence army unit, and contributed to establishing the overall strategy of the independence movement. He played an important role in strengthening ties with overseas independence movement forces and securing funds for the independence movement while working in Russia and China. Thus, General Hong Beom-do emphasized the importance of national unity through cooperation with various independence movement forces, and his activities gave hope for independence to many people.
