Synopsis
The documentary film traces the roots of the Republic of Korea Armed Forces by following the fierce armed struggle of General Hong Beom-do on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of liberation. From the victory of the Battle of Bongodong in 1920 to the controversy over the removal of the bust of the Korea Military Academy in 2023, it asks again where our military began. The beginning of the national army was the independence army and the liberation army. With the narration of actor Cho Jin-woong, the film talks about why we must remember the unknown independence army now through the voices of descendants of independence activists, politicians, soldiers, and scholars. The journey to revive the true image of the national army, which protects freedom and justice together with the people, begins now.
