"Lee Chang-dong: The art of Irony" is a co-production between Korea and France.
Synopsis
A portrait of the Korean representative cinéaste through his work-films, and writings.
"Dramatic irony" is a time travel to approach director Lee focusing on his nature and truth. Inspired by "Peppermint Candy", the film travels back in time to his artistic origin, from the present, then on time as a writer, up to his childhood. It also tells the stories of the actors in his films and co-writer Oh Jung-mi about their collaborations. In addition, the film shows the presence of each location and the beginning of the great artist.
