After his father abruptly departs for a business trip to the UK, Jin-goo finds himself living alone with his new stepmother, Ae-ran, with whom he still maintains an awkward relationship. Even just facing her during meals feels uncomfortable. Ae-ran, an English teacher, does her best to take care of her stepson despite her busy daily life, which includes private tutoring as a side job. Sometimes, even late at night, she appears to go out for work, as if she still has tutoring sessions. Meanwhile, thanks to an introduction by Seong-woo, a from his neighborhood, Jin-goo frequently visits a karaoke bar where he meets the popular 'ace' hostess, Woo-mi. One day, Jin-goo brings Seong-woo back to his house to continue their drink, and he stumbles upon a shocking truth. It turns out that Ae-ran is also working at the karaoke bar, and Seong-woo is one of her regular customers. From there, a series of twists and turns unravel a massive secret, exposing their tangled and erotic romantic lives.
