Synopsis
18th century Padua, Italy. Scientist Rappaccini conducts secret research using poisonous plants to render humans immune to toxins, all for the sake of his daughter, Beatrice. Raised in a garden steeped in poison, Beatrice grows up isolated from the world, her body itself imbued with deadly toxicity.

Giovanni, an aspiring artist, arrives in Padua and becomes enchanted by both Rappaccini's mysterious garden and the enigmatic Beatrice. Through his art, he forms a connection with her. When Beatrice finally steps out into the world, she's branded a witch and attacked by the townspeople. Rappaccini, consumed by rage at humanity's cruelty, reveals the depth of his bitterness.

As the three struggle to protect the love they each hold dear in their own way, they are ultimately forced to confront the harsh truths of their world.
