Synopsis
Every Monday, Pastor Kim Yo-han visits his mother's home in Suwon, two and a half hours away. His mother, 85-year-old Trudy (Korean name: Kim Chu-ri), served as the director of Joongang Christian Kindergarten. After undergoing spinal surgery for multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer, in 2006, she suffered a recurrence ten years ago. During chemotherapy, she developed dementia, forcing her to abandon all outside activities and confine herself to a wheelchair. As a first-generation immigrant, she overcame social prejudice and successfully raised three children. She founded Joongang Christian Kindergarten in 1979 and practiced inclusive education for the disabled. She taught English at Suwon Women's Prison for 15 years and, until recently, ran a pie shop to help the disabled. She has dedicated her life to supporting the underprivileged.
