Synopsis
A pastor is convinced that a divine revelation has called him to punish the person guilty of a missing persons case, while a police detective assigned to the case is haunted by her dead sister's shadow. Director Yeon Sang-ho, known for posing sharp questions about human nature through his work, explores the fine lines between religion and humanity, faith and beliefs, and good and evil in Revelations. Ryu Jun-yeol ("The 8 Show", "The Night Owl") plays the divinely guided pastor Min-chan. When Yang-rae visits his church, Min-chan receives a divine message that Yang-rae is the one who kidnapped his son, prompting Min-chan to seek retribution. Ryu delivers an intense portrayal of a man of devout faith caught in a harsh reality. Yeon-hee, the police detective who investigates Yang-rae and follows the suspicious pastor, is played by Shin Hyun-been ("Reborn Rich", "Hospital Playlist"). Tormented by the shadow of her dead sister who was a victim of a heinous crime, Yeon-hee pursues the case despite her personal struggles. Director Yeon Sang-ho's Revelations is another collaboration with writer Choi Kyu-sok after "Hellbound", with Alfonso Cuarón, the acclaimed director of Roma and Gravity, serving as executive producer.
