In The winter of 2024, martial law is declared in South Korea. Yet that night, citizens take to the square, holding candles and idol lightsticks as they peacefully resist. Martial law, impeachment, anger, song, and once again, people uniting. We seek to preserve the voices of those who defended democracy in this era, by our own hands.

Modern history, especially the democratic revolutions and civil resistance against corrupt power. How have the paradigms of struggle and revolution transformed in contemporary times? What significance do they hold today?

From that night, when armed soldiers and heavy security could not break people's spirit, to the lasting glow of the square through the turning of the year, the unwavering lights. Resistance through festival, struggle through song, this past winter’s citizen movement is itself the history of South Korea.
