Synopsis
Abandoned by her parents, high school student Bae Som-i lives with her grandfather and younger brother. Government subsidies alone make ends meet, so she works part-time at a convenience store. She should be at an age where she should be focusing on her studies to pursue her dreams and college entrance, but now even that worry seems like a luxury. Consequently, she often finds herself ignored by her friends. However, Som-i is happy because she can be with her grandfather, Bae Jang-seok, who works in public service, and her younger brother, Bae Dong-hyeon, who constantly fusses over side dishes.
The world is cruel to a 17-year-old girl. Whenever she encounters her mother, who isn't her mother, working at an entertainment establishment near her convenience store, her heart aches. Then one day, Bae Jang-seok feels unwell and, due to financial constraints, is unable to seek medical attention. Her younger brother, Dong-hyeon, suffers an unexpected and serious accident due to the negligence of a neighbor.
Where is hope?
Despite the bleak reality and the future, Som-i strives to become an actress.
Will Som-i ever achieve her dream?
