Synopsis
"There is no God. If there is, He is a being inferior to my shadow."
In 1955, nineteen-year-old Cho Yong-gi was given a six-month life expectancy due to tuberculosis.
Every night, coughing up blood, he poured out curses against the world and God into his diary. However, at the threshold of death, he encountered the Bible as if by fate, marking an astonishing turning point in his life.
Miracle-saving, the young Cho Yong-gi chose a dilapidated 24-pyeong tent church swaying in the wind and rain next to the Daejo-dong Cemetery instead of a traditional sanctuary. Becoming a friend to the poor and marginalized, he shared their lives and preached the gospel; yet, amidst the cold gaze of the world, his pioneering work was a continuous series of hardships at every moment.
Nevertheless, he was a young man who never stopped walking, driven solely by the conviction that "there is no end for those who dream."
His humble beginning eventually led to a journey of faith reaching out to the entire world.
The true beginning of 'Cho Yong-gi the man,' hidden behind the myth of success.
Through a diary unearthed after 70 years and previously unreleased archives,
the journey of a young man overcoming despair to become the voice of the times unfolds on screen for the first time.
