Lee Chae-min to Lead in "The Miracles of the Namiya General Store"

As the beloved Japanese novel "The Miracles Of The Namiya General Store" is being adapted into a Korean drama, rising youth star Lee Chae-min has been cast in a leading role.

According to an exclusive report by SPOTV News on the 6th, preparations are underway to produce a Korean drama adaptation of "The Miracles Of The Namiya General Store", one of the signature works by renowned Japanese author Keigo Higashino. Lee Chae-min will headline the project.

The Korean drama version is expected to run for approximately 10 episodes. Casting is currently in full swing, and discussions are ongoing regarding its release on a global OTT platform.

"The Miracles Of The Namiya General Store" tells the story of three thieves who hide inside the mysterious Namiya General Store, a place where the past and present intersect. As they begin responding to letters seeking advice, they uncover miraculous connections that intertwine with their own lives.

The novel has enjoyed enduring popularity in Korea, remaining a long-time bestseller. It has previously been adapted into films in Japan and China, and in Korea, it was also staged as a theatrical production, premiering in 2018.

Lee Chae-min gained attention through dramas such as "Crash Course in Romance", "See You In My 19th Life", and "Hierarchy", before rising to breakout-star status last year as the lead of tvN's "Bon Appetit, Your Majesty". More recently, he showcased a striking villainous turn as Jonathan in Netflix's "Cashero". Anticipation is high for the new transformation he will bring to "The Miracles Of The Namiya General Store".
