According to an exclusive report by MyDaily on the 5th, Lee Hee-jun has decided to join the cast of "The Koreans".
"The Koreans" is a spy thriller that remakes the hit American FX series "The Americans" into a Korean version. While the original was set during the Cold War era of the 1980s, the Korean adaptation relocates the story to South Korea under a military dictatorship, offering a distinctly localized reinterpretation.
Lee Hee-jun joins the project as a lead actor and is expected to showcase a new side of himself. With ENA's "Scarecrow" and the Netflix series "Dead-End Job" both set to be released this year, "The Koreans" marks another major addition to his busy lineup.
The drama initially drew attention for the anticipated pairing of Lee Byung-hun and Jun Ji-hyun, but Jun Ji-hyun ultimately declined the project. The final cast now brings together Lee Byung-hun, Han Ji-min, and Lee Hee-jun. Notably, all three actors are represented by BH Entertainment, making their collaboration all the more intriguing.
Ahn Gil-ho will direct the series, with production handled by Studio AA.
