Lee Hyeri Cancels Event to Mark 10th Anniversary in Showbiz Amid Coronavirus

A planned celebration of singer and actress Lee Hyeri's 10th anniversary in showbiz has become the latest event to fall victim to the coronavirus epidemic.

Lee Hyeri made her debut as a member of girl group Girl's Day in 2010.

Her agency said on Wednesday it has decided to cancel the event, which was scheduled for October.

"With the virus continuing to spread, we cannot help but make this decision, considering tightened social distancing rules and the ban on large-scale gatherings", it said.

"We talked with Lee Hyeri and agreed that priority must be given to the fans' safety and preventing the spread of the virus. We are sorry to deliver this news to her fans. We hope the situation will improve as soon as possible and that there will be other opportunities [for her] to meet with fans", it added.
