Lee Je-hoon's agency said on the 2nd, "Lee Je-hoon suddenly complained of abdominal pain on the night of the 1st and went to the emergency room, and after being diagnosed with ischemic colitis, he underwent emergency surgery", adding, "The surgery was completed well and he is currently recovering quickly". Therefore, it is inevitably difficult to attend the scheduled Busan schedule, he said.

Lee Je-hoon, the host of the opening ceremony of the 28th Busan International Film Festival, which was originally announced on the same day, was found to be absent for health reasons, raising fans' curiosity.

Lee Je-hoon was absent from the Busan International Film Festival as well as the Buil Film Awards due to the surgery, and filming of MBC's new drama "Chief Detective 1958" which will air next year, has also been suspended.

Meanwhile, following Lee Je-hoon's absence, actress Park Eun-bin was decided to host the opening ceremony of the 28th Busan International Film Festival alone. She will grace the opening ceremony as the first female solo host.

The 28th Busan International Film Festival will be held in the area of the Seoul Film Center for 10 days from the opening ceremony on October 4th (Wednesday) to October 13th (Friday).
