There hasn't been an actress who suffered from so many issues all at once in a single drama. We're talking about Lee Ji-ah from the recently ended SBS drama "The Woman who Married Three Times". She has been through so much criticism and issues. In the first interview with the actress in 3 years since the 'divorce' she said, "I can understand the criticism about my acting but the make-over is because of facial edema". She spoke about the various rumors that speculated around the once mysterious actress.

-Why did you choose writer Kim Su-hyun?
"I thought it'd be a good chance to learn a lot from it as I still have a long way to go. I felt like I needed to go through her. I was scared and I was worried that my image would seem weird since the title says, "The Woman who Married Three Times"".
-So did you learn a lot from it?
"There's always a standard in Kim Su-hyun's script and I have to play along with it. I've been free to do what I want but this time I was enclosed in a frame. It's something you can't do in another drama. I learned how to act within the guidelines".
-There have been many complains about the ending of the drama
"I personally think Eun-soo should've gone to Ha Seok-jin (Joon-goo) but Kim Su-hyun thought different. I sympathize with Eun-soo as a woman. It wasn't easy to choose myself over a man. It wouldn't have been easy for me. I applauded Eun-soo for what she did. It was wise".
-Did she send the baby to Ha Seok-jin and Jang Hee-jin?
"It might be difficult to understand but I've never had a child before so I don't know what it feels like. I do ask how one could send a child away like that though".
-We heard you were to play Son Yeo-eun (Chae-rin) at first
"That's a misunderstanding. It wasn't an offer, it was a choice. I didn't know who Chae-rin was so I didn't answer. It was an appealing role but I don't think it would've done it as well as Son Yeo-eun".
-About your facial surgery
"I have facial edema. My face swells if I get stressed. I was the last one to join "The Woman who Married Three Times" so I was pressured. It led to stress and appeared on my face. I don't swell like that even when I eat Ramyun at night. Those who have been through what I have will understand. My ears even turned red".
-Shouldn't you be going to the hospital?
"They said I have a bad kidney. I am on medication and when I wake up and my face swells I used to massage it. Now that the drama is over I am less stressed".
-You are a continuous issue maker
"Others make it to the news for acting but whatever I do is an issue. I wonder what I've done wrong so much. It's because of me so I should work it out".
