Lee Young-ae's First Drama Comeback in Two Years

Actress Lee Young-ae, who is about to return to the TV drama for the first time in two years with the tvN drama "Maestra: Strings of Truth", told her extraordinary story.

Lee Young-ae conducted an interview with ELLE magazine on the 27th.

When asked how she felt about the upcoming airing of the work, Lee Young-ae said, "I'm nervous and excited. Cha Se-eum is a conductor who also plays the violin very well. It wasn't easy to learn to conduct and to play the violin together over eight months, but there was that much joy", she said, expressing her passion for the work. "It is a work in which the tension between characters and characters blends with music as a secret event progresses. As I read the script while listening to music, I imagined the scene where the classical melody flows over my image on the screen. It's a work that has a large mystery element as well as music", she said, explaining the point of appreciation of the work.

When asked about the commonality between a conductor on the podium and an actor who has to dominate the field, she said, "When a conductor goes on the podium, it's his fight. I don't think it's possible to lead the whole thing alone without a strong mentality. In that sense, it may be similar to an actor who has to lead alone in front of the camera", she replied, showing her immersion in the role.

When asked how she wanted to be remembered as she has built various images through various channels as well as roles in various works, she said, "I don't want to be remembered for a specific image or symbolic role. I want to be a long-lasting actor, but if I want to work for a long time, I will have to balance my life. I hope I will be remembered as Lee Young-ae, who is in well-balance as a mother, a wife and as an actress", she said, expressing her deep affection for acting and daily life.

tvN's "Maestra: Strings of Truth" in which Lee Young-ae transforms into the role of Maestra Cha Se-eum, a female conductor looking for the truth of the incident, will premiere on December 9th.
