Gallagher performed Tuesday night in Seoul.
At a press event, Gallagher said he went to the Bongeunsa Temple early in the morning and found the statue. He said he was about to take a photo when a guard there told him to do it right and taught him the move.
Coldplay singer Chris Martin, who was here in April, also took a selfie with the sculpture.
Since Oasis disbanded, Gallagher has continued with his musical career with varying success, and this was his sixth visit to Korea.
