[Local Films to Go to Cannes]

"Taegukgi (Brotherhood)" is the latest local film bound for Cannes Film Festival in France next month.
The film, which recently set a new domestic box-office record, will be showing in the Special Screening section, a non-competitive section of the renowned festival. Other films set to screen in the section include Quentin Tarantino's "Kill Bill, Vol. 2".

Aside from "Taegukgi", two local films ? Hong Sangsoo's "Yoja-nun Namja-ui Miraeda (Woman is the Future of Man)" and "Haryu Insaeng (Low Class Life)" by Im Kwon-taek ? will be screened in the competition section of the festival.

The cold-war blockbuster "Silmido" is set to take part in the market part of the event, which will be held from May 12 through 23.
