Kang Tae-oh plays the role of Yi Kang, the crown prince who vows to take revenge in the drama, while Kim Sejeong plays Park Dal-i, a peddle who has lost her memory. In addition, Lee Sin-young will play the role of Li Yun, the prince's cousin, and Hong Soo-joo will play Kim Woo-hee, Joseon's most beautiful woman. In addition, actor Jin Goo will appear as the absolute powerhouse, Kim Han-cheol, bringing the drama's tension.

This drama is especially attracting attention in that it is Kim Sejeong's first historical drama challenge, having been active as a singer and actor. Kim Sejeong has been mainly active in modern dramas such as "Business Proposal", so expectations are high on what new charm this historical drama will show.

Kang Tae-oh will also return to historical drama for the first time in six years since the "The Tale of Nokdu" in 2019, and will meet with historical drama fans for the first time in a long time. With the meeting of the two main actors and the combination of fresh material, "Moon River" is emerging as an anticipated drama for the small screen in the second half of the year.
