"Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born" depicts competition, solidarity, and brilliant growth over Yoon Jeongnyeon (Kim Tae-ri), a 'natural sound genius' who challenges the best national drama actor after the Korean War in the 1950s.

Moon So-ri plays the role of Seo Yong-rye, a mother who raised her child alone. Jeongnyeon's dream of becoming a Gukgeuk actress is a conflict between the mother and daughter, who desperately opposes.

The still cut released by the production team shows Seo Yong-rye, who became a Mokpo woman. Due to the strong sea breeze, her face is fierce and the hard sea work reflects weight of her life. There is unexplainable sorrow shedding tears over her tough and firm eyes. She also catches eyes with her daughter Yoon Jeongnyeon. Seo Yong-rye walks with her daughter on the mudflat and nags her. But she lays her daughter on her lap.

Moon So-ri and Kim Tae-ri, who play mother and daughter, previously worked together as mother and daughter in the movie "Little Forest". The production team reported that the two actors worked together to the extent that they visited Mokpo to study the dialect.

""Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born"" will premiere at 9:20 p.m. on Saturday, October 12.

Meanwhile, the drama is currently in legal dispute with MBC. There were reportedly differences between broadcasters and production companies in the process of changing from MBC to tvN. Under these circumstances, the broadcasting will proceed as scheduled.
