• Moon So-ri is a South Korean actress and filmmaker and the wife of the director Jang Joon-hwan.
• She began her career on stage as part of the theater company Hangang and first acted on stage in 1996.
• She made her feature film debut as the female lead in Lee Chang-dong's Peppermint Candy in 1999, a role which made her famous in South Korea.
• She gained international prominence by starring again in Lee Chang-dong's Oasis in 2002, for which she won the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Emerging Actors at the 59th Venice International Film Festival, making her the second Korean recipient, and Best Actress at the Seattle International Film Festival.
• She earned further acclaim by starring in movie A Good Lawyer's Wife in 2003. This film was also invited to the 60th Venice International Film Festival, and she subsequently won the Best Actress award from the Stockholm International Film Festival, followed by best actress honors at numerous domestic awards ceremonies.
