Movie 'Spring, Summer, Winter, Fall and Spring' Enjoys Popularity in Germany

The movie, "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring" made a strong debut at German box offices. Its German distributor Pandora Film says more than 27 thousand people watched the movie, the first Korean film ever to be commercially screened in Germany, just five days after its release in 50 German theaters last Friday.

The ticket sales are considered an exceptional success, considering the dominance enjoyed by Hollywood blockbusters in Germany. The movie, depicting a Buddhist monk's path of life was directed by veteran Korean filmmaker Kim Ki-duk who received best director nod for another film called Samaria at the 54th Berlin Film Festival last month. Both Kim and his movies have since been receiving rave reviews from the European media.
