[Orion's Daily Ramblings] "Doctor Prisoner" Holds First Script Reading

Promotions for KBS 2TV's upcoming "Doctor Prisoner" are finally kicking off, and we have stills from the first script reading. "Doctor Prisoner" is a hybrid prison x medical suspense drama about an ace surgeon, who was ousted from a large hospital, becoming the chief medical officer of a prison and engaging in a battle of life and death.

The mixed genre drama stars Namkoong Min and Kwon Nara in what is their first medical drama and doctor role, respectively, while our antagonist will be the "Prison King" director portrayed by Kim Byung-chul. Joining them in the first script reading were Kim Byung-chul's "SKY Castle" co-star, Choi Won-young, as well as actors Lee Da-in, Park Eun-seok, Lee Min-young, Lee Jun-hyeok and others.
The script reading, which lasted over 4 hours, was also attended by PD Hwang In-hyeok ("The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop", "Assembly") and writer Park Kye-ok ("Inspiring Generation", "Dummy Mommy"). The multi-genre approach may sound messy, but if this follows the usual trajectory, we'll be getting some intense power play. "Doctor Prisoner" will premiere on March 20th.
