"Coach Maeng's Troll", which is scheduled to air in the first half of this year, is a comedy that takes place when professional basketball coach Maeng-gong, who is on the verge of being kicked out due to poor performance, joins hands with his hater Hwa-jin.
"Coach Maeng's Troll" won the grand prize in the MBC Drama Playbook Contest last year, and was highly praised for its interesting relationship between the two main characters. It is directed by Hyeon Sol-ip, who received favorable reviews for the drama "You Drive Me Crazy".
Park Sung-woong plays Maeng Gong, the coach of the professional basketball team Big Pandas. Park Sung-woong used to be a star player but is now more famous as a 'young old man' coach.
Park Sang-hoon plays Go Hwa-jin, a malicious commentator dedicated to Maeng Gong. As a high school senior with a deep understanding of basketball, Park Sang-hoon has a grudge against Maeng Gong. Expectations are high on how Park will perform his acting transformation in the upcoming movie, as he has left a strong impression in dramas "A Normal Family" and "The Queen Who Crowns: Dano's Destiny".
The production team said, "You can look forward to Park Sung-woong and Park Sang-hoon's fresh chemistry", adding, "A charming work armed with various characters and actors' passionate and exciting stories will be born".
