The nonverbal performance 'JUMP' which has been touring internationally delivering a combination of Korean martial arts and comedy has finally reached Japan.
The new Hallyu performance 'JUMP' will be staged 44 times at the Tokyo Shinjuku Theatre Apple from the 18th to 24th, and move on for ten performances in Osaka from June 28th to July 6th.
The press and personnel who viewed the open rehearsal on the 17th gave good reviews to the performance that constantly brought about laughter and excitement.
'JUMP' which refined traditional aspects with a modern touch performed at the 2005 Edinburgh Festival Fringe with all tickets being sold out and did a three month encore performance in London in additional to the originally scheduled two months.
The performances in Japan were made possible in part by a partnership of Keyeast of which Hallyu top star Bae Yong-joon invested in and the production company Yegam.
Prior to the 'JUMP' performance in Japan, Bae Yong-joon commented, "I feel that Japan's shows are reaching Korea and Korea's to Japan indicating the widening of cultural exchange. I was attracted to the news that 'JUMP' received great reviews and response at many international festivals. To support greater advance, my agency in the form of investment is providing support for their challenge to the world. As a Korean, and as a person of the same entertainment industry I feel very proud. I believe it is a show that even the people of Japan can enjoy".
The nonverbal performance 'JUMP' will also perform in Hong Kong, Malaysia and other countries throughout Asia after Japan, and continue on to Russia, Australia, Canada, Hawaii, and South America. The production will then be performed in New York Off Broadway for an unset duration.
