Netflix has unveiled the main trailer and key art for its upcoming action film "Mantis", releasing on September 26. The story follows Han-wool (Yim Si-wan), also known as the titular "Mantis", an elite killer returning from a long hiatus to find his former company, MK Entertainment, in crisis. Seizing the moment, Han-wool decides to start anew with his own "Mantis" Company". He teams up with his former fellow trainee and rival, Jae-i (Park Gyu-young), whose ambition and competitiveness add unpredictability to their partnership. The two, who previously appeared together as Player 333 and Pink Guard No. 11 in "Squid Game", reunite on Netflix screens, showing their dynamic in an adrenaline-fueled setting. Meanwhile, Dok-go (Jo Woo-jin), a legendary retired assassin and Han-wool's former mentor, emerges to stake his claim as CEO of MK Entertainment, setting up a tense triangle of shifting alliances and rivalries.
The main trailer sets the tone for what's to come, spotlighting visually striking, rhythm-driven action and the tense competition among the three leads. Han-wool and Jae-i's new venture is tested by mistrust and the ever-present danger of betrayal; Dok-go's reemergence only raises the stakes. To complicate matters further, Benjamin (Choi Hyun-wook) - an investor and CEO of an action gaming company - recognizes Jae-i's talent and challenges her loyalty to Han-wool, making her question her own motivations. As each character's desire to become the top killer intensifies, the story unfolds with twists, confrontations, and mind games.
"Mantis" stands out for its stylish action, layered character chemistry, and the pursuit of the top spot in a world where survival depends on wit, skill, and the willingness to outplay every rival. Directed by debuting director Lee Tae-sung-I, the film premieres exclusively on Netflix on September 26.
