Synopsis
All the rules are falling apart in the contract killing industry, and when the ace contract killer Mantis returns after a long vacation, he, his rival and former training buddy Jae-i, and the legendary killer Dok-go, coming out of retirement, all vie for the number-one spot. "Mantis" is the spinoff actioner of "Kill Boksoon" and is set in the same contract killing industry, as Kill Boksoon director Byun Sung-hyun co-wrote the screenplay, and "Kill Boksoon" assistant director Lee Tae-sung-I makes his directorial debut. Han-wool is an A-list killer who goes by the name Mantis, working at the contract killing agency MK Ent. Played by Yim Si-wan ("Squid Game - Season 2", "Unlocked"), Mantis was mentioned as on vacation in "Kill Boksoon". When he returns to MK Ent., now missing a leader, he sees this as an opportunity and makes plans with a group of colleagues. Jae-i, an exceptionally skilled killer ousted by MK Ent. after falling out of favor with her bosses, is played by Park Gyu-young ("Squid Game - Season 2", "Sweet Home", "Celebrity"). Though longtime friends, Jae-i has complicated feelings toward the immensely gifted Mantis. Jo Woo-jin ("Harbin", "Narco-Saints") takes on the role of retired legendary killer Dok-go.
