The teaser trailer opens with the calm of an ordinary morning for An-na (Kim Da-mi), an artificial intelligence researcher, as her son Ja-in (Kwon Eun-seong) wakes her up. However, their peace is quickly shattered as they face a world submerged by a record-breaking great flood. Rain keeps pouring as the floodwaters rise, and the film's realism and tension pull viewers into their desperate escape, culminating in a rooftop standoff where An-na must make an impossible decision. Their struggle takes on new meaning when Hee-jo (Park Hae-soo), a member of a security team, arrives with a mysterious mission that may hold the key to humanity's future. The trailer hints at larger mysteries, including a rocket bound for space and unknown golden fragments, promising a story that stretches the imagination and challenges the boundaries of survival.

Director Kim Byeong-woo's meticulous storytelling and the compelling performances of Kim Da-mi and Park Hae-soo drive the film, elevating this unpredictable tale of survival and sacrifice.

"The Great Flood" premieres at BIFF and streams this December 19, only on Netflix.
