"The 8 Show" is a story about eight characters trapped in a secret space divided into eight floors and participating in a sweet but dangerous show that "makes money when time accumulates". It adapted Bae Jin-soo's Naver webtoons "Money Game" and "Pie Game", which drew the original desires of characters fighting in a capitalist society under the theme of politics and economy and recorded 300 million views globally.
Director Han Jae-rim, who has closely depicted the psychology between characters through works such as "The Face Reader", "The King" and "Emergency Declaration", is expected to capture the images of characters who repeatedly cooperate, confront, antagonize, and betray in a secret space divided into unequal structures in "The 8 Show".
The eight figures who participate in the sweet but dangerous eight show boast stellar casts. Starting with the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards with the film "The Night Owl", Ryu Jun-yeol, who has continued his winning streak of Best Actor at major domestic award ceremonies such as the 28th Chunsa International Film Festival, will reunite with director Han Jae-rim following the film "The King". Chun Woo-hee, who shows strong acting transformation in each film, including the Netflix film "Unlocked", the movie "I Want to Know Your Parents" and "The Anchor", Park Jeong-min, who has established himself as a trusted and watched actor through the Netflix films "Time to Hunt", "Deliver Us From Evil" and "Smugglers" and Lee Yul-eum, who showed impressive performances in the drama "Nevertheless".
In addition, Park Hae-joon, who is acclaimed for his performances that take advantage of the character's characteristics such as the one from the movie "12.12: The Day" and the drama "The World of the Married", Lee Zoo-young, who showed her unique character performance in the Netflix movie "Believer 2", Moon Jeong-hee, who shows intense yet weighty performances across various genres such as "Limit", "Cart", and "Hide and Seek" and Bae Sung-woo, who revealed his heavy presence in the movies "The Swindlers", "The Great Battle" and "The King", will catch the attention of viewers.
"The 8 Show" will be released worldwide through Netflix in 2024.
