Sexy Cult Musical 'The Rocky Horror Show' Opens in Seoul

"The Rocky Horror Show", which premiered at the Theater Upstairs run by the Royal Court in London in 1973, is referred to as a cult musical that rebels against the mainstream culture and existing social values.

The success of the musical also gave birth to the film version in 1975 entitled "The Rocky Horrow Picture Show". The musical premiered in Korea in 2001 and has given rise to now-renowned musical stars such as Lee Sun-kyun, Oh Man-seok and Kang Ji-hwan.

The story begins when Brad Majors and Janet Weiss get engaged at their friends' wedding and visit their old high school science teacher, Dr. Everett Scott. On the road, the two end up driving into a rainstorm and they end up staying at an old castle. There, they meet Frank-n-Furter, a bisexual mad scientist from "Transsexual Transylvania" who guides the couple to his laboratory. A wild and wacky sex party takes place in the castle and the audience is in for a shocking turn of events.

The latest production of "The Rocky Horror Show" will be directed by musical producer Lee Ji-na and Oh Rufina. Actors Hong Rok-gi, Song Yong-jin and Kang Tae-eul will alternate in the role of mad scientist Frank-n-Furter.
