SHINee's Onew to Start Military Service Next Month

Onew, a member of the boy band SHINee, will enlist in the military next month.

His management agency SM Entertainment said Friday that the singer will start fulfilling his mandatory military service on Dec. 10.

He will go through five weeks of basic training at boot camp before being assigned to an Army unit.

"Onew wants to keep it quiet, so no events will be held to say goodbye to fans", the agency said.

Onew made his debut with SHINee in 2008 and is the band's first member to enter the military.
