At this, the general contacted King Hyo-jong (Lee Tae-ri) confidentially to investigate the situation.

Joo-seon's plan to dethrone King Hyo-jong by bribing a Qing officer defaulted. As this happened, while leading his private soldiers, he went to King Hyo-jong. Joo-won told him to put down the sword and Joo-seon ended up firing a gun towards him.
