T.O.P. Regains Consciousness After Drug Overdose

T.O.P. (Choi Seung-hyun) of boy band Big Bang regained consciousness Thursday after being hospitalized with an apparent drug overdose.

Police said the rapper's condition improved sufficiently to recognize his family. Just a day earlier, physicians in the intensive care unit where T.O.P. has been hospitalized told reporters that he was in critical condition and unable to keep his eyes open for more than 10 seconds.
He is expected to be suspended from his police duties on Friday, according to regulations on conscripts who are indicted on criminal charges.
T.O.P is accused of smoking marijuana with a 21-year-old woman identified as Han at his home in Seoul in October last year.
The rapper's mandatory military service period will be put on hold as he awaits trial.
