Dong A had earlier reported that "The Guest - 2019" was not happening and that a production team was formed with director Kim Hong-seon-I in the lead, but the team dispersed in the stage of writing the scenario. It added that the cast also gave up their roles because everything was unsure.

Meanwhile, "The Guest - 2019" is about a psychic, a priest and a detective who fight crime happening due to paradoxical activities in various places of the Korean society. The drama it is based on, "The Guest - Drama", was aired on OCN last year.
