"The Remarried Empress" Shin Min-a and Ju Ji-hoon Starts Off In Prague

The popular drama "The Remarried Empress" has finally begun.

According to a broadcasting source on Monday, the drama "The Remarried Empress" recently started filming in Prague. Actors Shin Min-a and Ju Ji-hoon reportedly departed for Prague last week. Lee Se-young and Lee Jong-suk will join the filming this month. "The Remarried Empress" will return to Korea after filming overseas locations.

"The Remarried Empress" is a drama based on a hit webtoon that has accumulated about 2.6 billion views globally (as of December 2024). Actors Shin Min-a, Ju Ji-hoon, Lee Jong-suk, and Lee Se-young will star.

The "The Remarried Empress" based on the web novel webtoon, is a romance fantasy epic drama that takes place when the empress of the Eastern Empire, Navier, is notified of her divorce from the emperor Sovieshu and demands permission to remarry with the prince of the Western kingdom, as an alternative. In the background of the divorce, Rashta, a former runaway slave, enters the palace as Sovieshu's concubine and becomes a spark of full-fledged conflict. Since the series of web novels in 2018, "The Remarried Empress" has been expanded to webtoons with record popularity, and was translated into 10 languages in 2019 and has captivated readers around the world.

Shin Min-a plays the role of Navier, the empress of the contemporary empire, who is praised for her bright brain and natural dignity. Ju Ji-hoon stars as Emperor Sovieshu, the symbol of absolute power and husband of Navier, and Lee Jong-suk as the prince of the Western kingdom and a secretive servant. Lee Se-young confirmed her appearance as Rashta, who is a runaway slave and seeks the position of the empress.

The director is Jo Soo-won, who directed "I Hear Your Voice", "Pinocchio", and "Thirty But Seventeen", and the script was written by Yeo Ji-na and Hyun Choong-yeol. Studio N, which introduced "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call" and "Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born" is in charge of producing the show.
