Trial to Decide Movie Director Hong Sang-soo's Divorce

A court trial will have to decide on the divorce filed last month by film director Hong Sang-soo over his whirlwind romance with much younger actress Kim Min-hee.

The Seoul Family Court said on Wednesday that the case will now be settled in a trial as Hong's wife is apparently reluctant to take part in court mediation.
The court sent Hong's wife notice of mandatory mediation prior to divorce but was unable to deliver it. A court official said, "If a notification can't be delivered, a divorce case goes to trial to prevent any further delays".
Hong is 56 to Kim's 34, and they met while filming "Right Now, Wrong Then" last year. Hong has since left his family.
He repeatedly asked his wife to divorce him, but she refused. Neither has so far commented on his affair with Kim.
