With heartthrobs Zo In-sung, Jung Woo-sung and Hyun Bin leading their casts, "The King" and "Confidential Assignment" made a buzz even before they reached screens.
Data released by the Korean Film Council on Sunday showed that "The King" reached the 1 million viewer mark just four days after its release last Wednesday. It drew over 520,000 cinemagoers on Saturday alone, bringing total attendance to 1.33 million.
Starring Jo and Jeong, the crime drama shows a man grappling with the cruel side of his job after achieving his childhood dream of becoming a prosecutor.
"Confidential Assignment" needed just one more day than "The King", hitting the 1 million viewer milestone on Sunday. The action film tells the tale of a North Korean agent and a South Korean detective who cooperate to take down a North Korean criminal hiding in the South.
