According to an exclusive report by SPOTV News on the 28th, Nam Joo-hyuk is positively reviewing an offer to star in the new series "Code": Faust Game", written by Yang Hyun-ah, Kim Gun-woo-I, and Kim Hyung-joon-I, and directed by You Su-min.

"Code: Faust Game" is based on the wildly popular Taiwanese drama "Code: The Price of Desire". The series follows materialistic lawyer Yoon Tae-joo, whose life spirals out of control after discovering a mysterious app called 'Code' that grants wishes.

The original Taiwanese series gained massive popularity with Seasons 1 and 2 released in 2016 and 2019. It was later remade in Japan in 2023 as "Code: The Price of Wishes", starring Kentaro Sakaguchi, and also drew significant attention.

Nam Joo-hyuk has been offered the lead role of Yoon Tae-joo, a character who struggles relentlessly to become a partner at a top law firm. After receiving an invitation message from the enigmatic app 'Code', he is swept into an uncontrollable vortex of fate.

"Code: Faust Game" marks the latest project by director You Su-min, who has established himself as one of the most talked-about creators through the Weak Hero series ("Weak Hero Class 1" and "Weak Hero Class 1"). Should Nam Joo-hyuk confirm his appearance, it would mark a high-profile collaboration between two major figures, an encounter of 'trendsetter meets trendsetter'.

Director You has previously been praised for strengthening the original narrative of Weak Hero through meticulous adaptation and for maximizing both actor performances and storytelling appeal. Expectations are high for this new reinterpretation of an existing IP, especially with Nam Joo-hyuk, often dubbed a 'box-office guarantee, leading the cast.

Meanwhile, Nam Joo-hyuk is set to greet audiences later this year with Netflix's "The East Palace", scheduled for release in the third quarter. "The East Palace" tells the story of Gu-chun (Nam Joo-hyuk), who possesses the ability to slay spirits with a sword, and court maid Saeng-gang (Roh Yoon-seo), who can hear the voices of ghosts. Together, at the king's command (Cho Seung-woo), they uncover a curse haunting the Eastern Palace.

Notably, "The East Palace" is regarded as one of Netflix's most highly anticipated titles for 2026, with Nam Joo-hyuk standing out as the only Asian actor to appear in Netflix's global lineup video, further heightening expectations for his upcoming projects.
