"Vampir" is a mystery occult film about an unidentified hitman who, at the request of a clergyman, pursues a mysterious pagan cult. Filming is set to begin in August, with the film scheduled for a theatrical release in 2028.
The film is directed by Jang Jae-hyeon, who helmed "Exhuma", "Svaha: The Sixth Finger", and "The Priests". The cast also includes Yoo Ah-in, Lee Sung-min, Lee Jun-hyuk, DOI, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Choi Hyun-wook.
Yoo Ah-in plays a hitman who hunts down the pagan cult. Fearless and unshaken in any situation, his character gradually changes as he encounters mysterious entities, a transformation the film will portray with subtlety.
Lee Sung-min plays a clergyman who breaks taboos for the sake of his beliefs. Drawing on his seasoned acting, he will portray a man struggling between responsibility and guilt, anchoring the film at its center.
Lee Jun-hyuk takes on the role of a pagan who longs for eternal life, marking a striking transformation. Newcomer DOI was cast as a mysterious girl after beating out fierce competition in auditions.
Yoon Kyung-ho plays a smuggling broker who ends up accompanying the pagan, while Choi Hyun-wook plays a U.S. Army second lieutenant with a mysterious agenda.
Meanwhile, Yoo Ah-in was sentenced to one year in prison, suspended for two years, in July last year after being convicted of habitual drug use. "Vampir" marks his first confirmed project since the ruling was finalized.
