"Birthday Boy" Wins Award at Japanese Media Festival

The Korean animated film "Birthday Boy", directed by Park Se-jong, has received the Best Animated Short Film award at the 8th Japanese Media Art Festival. Park's film was also nominated at the U.S. Academy Film Festival.
Co-organized by Japan's Ministry of Culture and the CG-ARTS Association, the media festival will be held from Feb. 26 to March 6 in Tokyo, Japan. It will feature a variety of cultural exhibitions and award ceremonies in the categories of art, entertainment, animation and cartoons. During the festival, nine Korean "hallyu" works will be shown to the public, including the television drama "Winter Sonata", songs from Korean pop artist Boa, the comic character Pucca and the cartoon movie "Ragnarok".
