[HanCinema's News] Kang Soo-yeon Tops Brand Reputation Report in Wake of her Death

According to the latest Brand Reputation Report from the Brand Reputation Index, Kang Soo-yeon was the most popular movie star for the month of May, defined as April 28th to May 28th. The conclusion was arrived at via an algorithm that analyzed over 247,669,647 pieces of data across various social media platforms. This was an increase of 18.39% compared to March's index. Fifty celebrities were selected for inclusion.

Why Kang Soo-yeon was one of them is unclear, as she was not appearing in any recent projects and became a major topic of interest in the news mainly because of her sudden and surprising death on May 7th. She will appear postmortem in the Netflix film Jung E later this year. Some 13,847,666 pieces of analyzed data referenced her in some way. Ma Dong-seok of "The Roundup" was in second place, 10,524,326 pieces of analyzed data making references to the action movie star.

Third place went to Kim Hye-soo, whose last project was the legal drama "Juvenile Justice" which aired on Netflix last February. Some 10,478,151 pieces of data referenced the actress. Son Sukku, who appears in "The Roundup" as the villain and "My Liberation Notes" as principal cast, was fourth place with 9,635,599 pieces of data referencing him. Lee Byung-hun who currently appears in "Our Blues" on tvN was fifth place with 9,380,105 pieces of data referencing him.
