On the 29th, Kang Mina met with reporters at a location in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, where she shared various stories about the Netflix series "If Wishes Could Kill".

"If Wishes Could Kill" is a story about high school students who are suddenly foretold of their deaths due to a curse from a wish-granting application called "If Wishes Could Kill"", and their struggle to escape that fate.

Kang Mina plays Na-ri, a character who grew up in a wealthy environment and draws attention wherever she goes with her idol-like, glamorous appearance. In the series, she does not believe in the curse of the mysterious app "If Wishes Could Kill", which grants wishes when users write down their name and fortune, and she candidly portrays the emotional turmoil caused by the app.

Despite not being a fan of the horror genre, Kang Mina explained why she was drawn to the role of Na-ri.

"When I first read the script, I felt that Na-ri was pitiful and unfortunate. As people go through life, there are moments when they act selfishly, and I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. When an 18-year-old is faced with extreme circumstances, I could somewhat understand the choices she makes. I was also attracted to the role because I felt I could show a different side of myself from what the public knows", she said.

Recalling her audition, she added, "There were quite a few vulgar lines in the script, so I practiced them intensively to deliver them effectively. Na-ri is a character who doesn't hesitate to say harsh things, so I worked hard to express a strong presence that wouldn't back down in those tense, competitive interactions between girls".

She continued, "There are also scenes with ad-libs. In an early scene where we're going to school, I used some improvised lines with slang, and the director really liked what I did during rehearsal".

She also talked about the youthful atmosphere on set, which consisted mostly of rookie actors.

"The atmosphere on set was really great. I tried to take on the role of bringing the actors together. Since we play characters who have been close since childhood, we needed to build that chemistry. We met up for meals before filming and gathered together even after shoots", she said.

She added, "Actress Jeon So-young comes over to my house very often. On days when we don't drink, we stay up all night chatting over coffee and sharing our concerns", showing the close bond among the cast.

Meanwhile, "If Wishes Could Kill" was released worldwide on Netflix on the 24th.
